In the last two exams, 2020 and 2021, University of London administered open book exams. This is how students went about preparing for exams.
Students would get exam papers then they would compile questions examined from each chapter in the last 20 years. For example, for Banking and Finance 2010 exam paper, question 1 was from chapter 3, question 2 was from chapter 7, question 3 was from chapter 10 and so on. They would end up with something like 20 questions examined for each chapter.
During open book exam, whenever they spotted a question from say chapter eight, they would go back the list of questions they compiled, if they found a similar questions was tested before, they made use of examiner commentaries to write answers and score the highest possible mark.

How to use similar strategy to prepare for proctored exams
STEP 1
Before you start studying any course, use these exam papers and examiner commentaries to compile a list of questions examined from each chapter in the last 20 years. Examiner commentaries usually show chapters where each question was derived, so compiling questions before reading is easy.
STEP 2
Before you start studying any chapter, say like chapter one, go through questions you complied for that chapter to get an idea of concepts that were tested in the last 20 years.
Why is it important to go through questions before reading any chapter? It will help you emphasize the understanding of concepts on first reading. Most students usually read the entire chapter, then they try to answer questions at the end. That strategy works but it's not very smart. Students who do this usually find they can't answer exam questions at the end, they have to go back to the textbook and re-read, which is duplication of work or reading the textbook twice, which ends up taking a lot of time.
If you go through past exam questions before your first reading, you'll find yourself saying, "I saw a question testing this concept," and you'll try to emphasize your understanding on the first reading. You'll also find answering exam questions becoming easier and faster.
STEP 3
Once you reach the end of the chapter, answer all 20 years of exam questions you compiled from that chapter with the help of examiner commentaries. This is equivalent of combining studying and revision and it will make sure you're thorough in your studies. During revision time, simply go back to the answers you wrote for these exam questions.

On the other hand, if you choose to skip these study materials and instead spend that 15 bucks on pizza, then you'll have given up the long term benefit of great jobs for the short term joy of enjoying pizza for 30 minutes.
